BL Evolution Right needle wont unscrew Help please. Cant unscrew O2 right needle

Is there something I can do or do I have to go to the dealership an hour or so drive? BTW the O1 left needle is easy to loosen and remove. Has anyone had the problem? ------ Joan Sunshine Coast QLD

Do you have any Liquid Wrench around the house? That's the best solution I can come up with. If not, I'd try a drop of lightweight sewing machine oil on the threads. I hope you can get to them. But to get yours out you could try this: Try tipping/laying machine backwards and use just a tiny a drop of solvent (something like liquid wrench, or PB blaster or WD 40 or what ever they have where you live) on a q tip, onto the top of the allen screw. Now use a hair dryer to heat it up a bit, without getting hot enough to hurt anything else of course. Now put allen screw driver back in there, and only gently tap it, with something else on the end of it, maybe sissors or screw driver handle to set up some vibration, down the allen wrench. You are only holding it very loosely and only gently tapping, for vibration purposes, not hitting anything hard at all. After all that, try just taking it out as normal, and I think good chances are it will be unstuck then. And maybe don't screw it in quite as tight next time. Good Luck, I bet it comes out.

Date: 1/19/13 12:16 PM My Evolution right needle was super tight- took a few weeks of changing to loosen up. I went to a dealer class last week and at least 3 others had too tight right needles from the factory. I tried to help my table mate and know what you are talkinh about. I was afraid i would break off that needle changer screw driver. We called over the Educator and she just did a super twist counterclockwise. I kept thinking better her to break it than the poor new owner. But the screw driver didnt break and the right needle screw loosened. So they are well made- you just have to really force it counterclockwise in some of those. I guess the factory really tightens them. ------ re-living my youth through sewing...

As I only wanted to edge somw new fabric before i wash it it really is not a big problem ATM. I agree with SandiMacD that it was tightened at the factory. Next time I am near the dealership I will go in and let them try, as she said "rather them than me break it ". ------ Joan Sunshine Coast QLD
