Does anyone know where I can buy horizontal elastic. I am looking to use it on the zippers of chaps. I found some zippers made this way but they aren't heavy duty enough and I would prefer to buy the elastic separate from the zippers. Thanks!

horizontal elastic? do you mean elastic that stretches across the narrow dimension, not lengthwise like what I'm familiar with?

Do you have any photos of what it needs to do? How stretchy does it need to be?

Don't they use elastic that stretches across the narrow in side panels of workout wear? It seems like I've seen that.

You might be able to use the type of elastic that's used in back braces and such. It comes in very wide widths (I have some that's at least 8" wide, but it's blue) and is very strong.

7yrStitch: well I was curious and followed your link. It wasn't until I reached page 6 that I could make any sense of it. I think I have a better grasp on searches now and it will be nice to try your new way next time I need to search.
I also second someones suggestion of a PR dictionary. Even after reading your 10 page link I remain clueless as to why I see post with the only words of *bumping* or *pinning*. Does typing that word do something in particular? Is it something you do or is is something done by the person typing the word? Or perhaps it is related only to the new search method?
I will trying searching PR threads to figure out more once I clear my head. Too much new information right now.

Anyway this is a great notion. The word elastic confused me until I saw the picture in the website- we are talking about a stretch zipper tape. Sort of like putting spandex in cotton fabric to give it stretch. Neat idea.
