I was going to buy some other stuff. But I thought I haven't brought a new sewing/book in a long time. So I'm not really up to date on the good ones. Stitch is one I have come to like allot. Some of the magazines have free patterns in them too to use. I like Women who Create too though I have only gotten it a couple of times. It's fairly basic, but was a good fill in for quite a few techniques that no one ever bothered to teach me! Plus it comes with patterns. The BurdaStyle Handbook is similar - I'd say look at both and see which would be better for you. It's main feature is that they show several variations for each pattern - so for the more advanced it's more of an inspiration book. Both have several reviews on Amazon.

Cruise B&N for the used but in good shape books - oh how I love using gift cards for used books or NOOK books!Seems like saving twice! I have gotten so many used sewing books in really good shape - maybe even unread. That way I don't feel bad giving them away either! All the quilts are from scraps and there is a large section on organizing, what to save and such. I've been looking at some of the Japanese quilting books...way too complicated for me but fun to look at. You might enjoy them.
