Pfaff Ambition 1.5 for Quilting? Checking in with the quilter for opinions

I bought a Viking Quilt (the new model is 875Q) with the 10" harp space and it's a DREAM to quilt with. It was a foot that pushed the fabric all the way down HARD when the needle was down and bounced up when it went up -- the extra drag that created on a quilt was too much for me wrists. I have a little carpal tunnel and found I could only straight line stitch with that machine. And, most of the time I had to slow the machine down to avoid a "thumping" "working too hard" kind of sound when I was doing that. It is a great machine in lots of ways - but for me -- not a quilting machine. I loved the NX2000 I tested. In many ways its more machine than the 1.5. I read your other thread, too -- Perhaps some classes would help out -- the thread cutter alone is worth keeping the machine -- but I also love the screen and I love love the wide deco stitches the nx2000 can make. ------ Drag queen quilter!

Date: 1/24/13 9:33 PM If you have a new machine the stitches are not right you should still be under warranty. It is not acceptable for a new machine not to have excellent stitches. I LOVE some of my deco stitches and would hate it if they were stitched incorrectly. If you like the machine otherwise make them fix it or give you a new machine, if that feels right to you. ------ Barb
