Just got a Pfaff 7570 from a friend and love it. I have the fantasy unit but no cable. Anyone out there with one to spare? Thanks

Since I am just getting started any other info to help would be nice also...

You could try placing an ISO (in search of) ad here on the PR classifieds or on the yahoo group SewItsForSale. Good luck!

Pfaff dealers used to sell extra creative cable kits for Pfaff models 7570,7560 and 7562.(The cable is required for direct link from PC to the Pfaff models).Maybe if you searched the Internet,eBay,or contact Pfaff dealers you can still find a kit.

When I needed a replacement item for my outdated Pfaff model,I sent Pfaff an e-mail.Within a couple of days I received a reply from a Pfaff rep.I was told any dealer can still order what I needed.Mind you,it took several months for the item to appear in my mailbox.

Another option is to buy a Pes2Card converter box.

Try Brubakers in PA (sewfine34 on ebay) or AccuSew near Milwaukee WI for older Pfaff stuff. Or Odegaards in AZ. Nayy, but I've bought from Brubakers and Odegaards-great service both.

Try Ginny's in Poway, CA. I was in the same predicament 6 months ago. Bought one and at least one more was on the wall at that time. Can't remember the exact name of her wonderful store, but she is the only Pfaff dealer in Poway.

You will also need the software to run the machine embroidery unit. This is 12+ years old and a 10 pin serial port not USB. This software was made on 3 1/2" floppies, Windows 95/98. Amazing Designs sold magic box and re writable card. This option would be supported under newer 32 bit computers.

I'm still even running that PC-Designer software. Even though I don't use it very often anymore. I took it off the floppy a long time ago, and put it someplace else for archive purposes, just because I think most of the floppies can have gone dead by now. I choose to run mine in win XP, though i could run it, in something much newer.

Also if you try to install it in a newish computer and I am counting even things like win XP or ME or Vista or such as newish, with any kind of floppy, even an external one, it does not like to happen. Instead you more need to copy all the files off your old floppy, into your computer and run it more that way instead. I have no problem sending data to an old Pfaff myself, with that software,(I stil have a Pfaff 1475 CD I can do that with) but a lot of that is I still like to put in and use, real serial connections on a real serial card plugged into my motherboard in a computer too, not any kind of Serial to USB converter device, which can sometimes be pretty iffy. There is/was some slightly newer Pfaff software that might be easier to use for for that, but then that costs money too.

The advantage of using some kind of Pfaff software or the old PC-Designer one, to get designs into the machine, instead of something else, is I think the Pfaff ones are the only ones that are still going to allow you to make your own feeddogs up 9mm .pcd and up to 40 mm .pcq maxi feed dog up kind of stitches there and also give you the method to actually get those into the machine. So you could use lots of other methods to get a hooped embroidery design into the machine, but I think you are going to loose your capability to get your own self made feed dog up, .pcd and .pcq kind of stitches into it with those other ones. Only you know if that is important to you or not.

Maybe a bunch stuff to think about before even paying a whole lot of money for Pfaff cable though, even if you do find one some place.
