I know Burda isn't known for in-depth instructions, but I sure could use some additional information on this one. This pattern calls for 4 yards of 1/2-inch cotton tape. The instructions call for it to be used for stabilizing the pocket (OK, I'm thinking twill tape or stay tape) but it appears to also be used for finishing the edges of the sleeves and around the hood. Since it will show, it has to match. Any ideas on just what kind of cotton tape they are referring to and where I might find it in a variety of colors? Transform Jacket

My Dutch magazine wasn't very helpful, except I can tell that they do not mean biais tape. More likely cotton ribbon.

*Edited to correct a term.

I made the shorter version of that jacket for my daughter. For the pockets I just cut for rectangular peices and made the pockets. I lined the hood so I didn't need anything there and just turned under the botton of the jacket and the bottom of the sleeves.

I would probably use gros grain ribbon as I could get it in many widths and colours.
