Juki 654DE/654 Serger JLx2 needles for heavier materials

On page 11 of my manual is says to use a JLx2 needle, left position to help. The machine's did come with this extra needle and it DOES make a difference. Do the newer Juki 654DE sergers still require this needle on the left side to handle heavier applications? Does page 11 in your manual talk about it? I've never heard anyone mention this and I know it is a popular serger. I am wondering if they have changed the machine not needing this needle sizeOtherwise I do love this machine!!! It came with some of these JLx2 needles as well as the regular ones. Marilyn

I had talked to a gal from Juki America and she knew nothing about these needles. I like the Organ ones that came with the machine and they are hard to find. Only online........
