The sale also has half price shipping international, and some patterns are still 20% off.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was able to put in the half price international shipping code - now have my first taste of Hot Patterns winging their way to me

Hi Wendy, excuse me asking, but did you like the patterns? Cheers, Sarah (in neighbouring Australia)

Hi kushami,

I am loving Hot Patterns!
What I like best is that Trudy drafts her patterns for a size 16, and grades up and down from there. This works really well for me, as this is close to the size I make. I have noticed that the people that seem to have had more trouble with the fit of the patterns are making the sizes that are further away from the original draft.

I find the sizing reasonably accurate to the size chart, though I do go down a size in the knit patterns, as do many others. I'm sure this is a preference thing, as I just don't like my knits quite as drapey/oversized as they are designed.

Also, the patterns are drafted with a D? cup, so no need for a FBA (for me anyway).

The instructions tend to be more an order of construction, than the full bells and whistles you get with Big4/other indies. There is assumed knowledge and no hand holding, so as long as you go in knowing this (and perhaps have a reference book handy for some of the more advanced patterns) there will be no big surprises.

HTH
