tropical quilt

I finally finished it and it is up on the Review Gallery. It took a long time to do this. I started it last Feb for a class project and finished today. I had it all done but the binding. I wanted to learn to do the binding on a smaller quilt before tackling this much larger one. A wise decision. I did the binding by hand. I can see I will want to change that in my future and by the binder and the proper feet for it.

------
Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Beautiful - lovely colours.

Stitching the binding by hand is my favorite part of finishing a quilt not so my DD though.

It is gorgeous!! I understand about the binding; I do no hand sewing Because if God had intended for me to sew by hand he would not have given me the opportunity to buy so many sewing machines!

I sew my binding onto the back and turn to the front. Then I use my SID foot/Edge Joining Foot and run it along the folded edge, move my needle to right to 1 or 1.5 and sew it down; comes out great.

Binding Applied with SID

Just Beautiful! So glad you finished it. Someone posted the 4 stages of Done

Top pieced = Done
Sandwiched = Done
Quilted = Done
Border on = Done

hahaha you are Done, Done, Done!!!

Good luck on the binding! I despise hand sewing of any kind, so me and my sewing machine are best buds

What color are you thinking for the border? A solid to setting down the beautiful flowers? or ??

So pretty and cheerful..the binding looks straight and great!! I'll bet you are so glad you went with those fabrics instead of what the teacher wanted you to get!!
