Date: 1/28/13 11:09 AM Im hosting a drag party and wanted to make a prize for a contest -- I made this. When I first started sewing this was the kind of work i really wanted to do -- all kinds of thread and a little bit of patchwork. I could not do it then, it was too hard for me. I had not messed with this kid of thing in a long time - but, I was playing around and came up with this. Most of the FMQ was done through the bobbin - I dont enjoy sewing slowly. Its still all left over stuff -old blanket for batting and recycled sheets and some old couch cover for a back. Im happy, I dont think I broke any needles, either! ------ Drag queen quilter!

I used some of those big sparkle threads by ricky timms and some glitter threads -- it was fun -- hard work because I had to really work to get everything working the right way -- but, it was fun. I was sweating sitting at the machine because I was doing so many adjustments and changing threads so often. ------ Drag queen quilter!

I can imagine how much fun it must have been to do that. Were you sort of "doodling?, or did you have a design in mind when you started? Anyway, love it. I tried to use graduating sizes small-large and used small to large threads in relation to the doodle size. There is lots of that Mylar type glitter thread in there. It was hard to manage needle, tension, top thread and winding the bobbin with these threads - the Grand Quilter does not have an adjustable speed bobbin winder. ------ Drag queen quilter!
