I think a great "pinned topic" would be a post where an individual can post a request for a pattern they would like.

- Perhaps it is Out of Print
- They have the wrong size
- They have multiples they would like to trade for another

That sounds like a clever idea, Scheri.

although speaking from experience I don't think most people would browse a long thread on this subject. There is the "wanted" part of the classifieds on this site.....

The pinned topic doesn't need to be done because PR's pattern catalog works just as well. The problem is you have to be a Friends of PR member in order to use the catalog, I believe.

Try the "wanted" section of the classifieds.

Hmm, I think something like a pattern trading Flickr group might work. Then you could have a board of patterns you're willing to trade as well. Just a thought..

Would you explain what you mean by this?

How would PR's pattern catalog work for trading?

Sorry. It wasn't clear to me about the trading part until further down. You can request a review of a specific pattern before you put it in your pattern catalog. Once that review is done, you can add it to your purchasing wish list or you can put it in your catalog. You can also remove a pattern once you've sewn it. But you have to be a Friend in order to utilize it; it's one of the perks. Now the above might be different since I last used the catalog; there have been some changes and I don't use my catalog much.

I think there is a topic on the board here for a pattern exchange, if I'm not mistaken, but the posts are very old. This idea has been brought up several times.

The Flickr idea is a good one, but Flickr is limited to 200 free photos and I'm sure it would fill up quickly, knowing pattern stashes (like mine). And if PR is going to foot the bill for the additional, our membership rates will have to go up.

Don't mean to "wet blanket" what anyone is saying, but I try to look before I leap. (note the word, "try".. ;0) )

I live in Israel & shipping costs are very high,
I think that any of you could send in much lower costs in privet.
That could help me or other members to buy some of the pattarns.
I'll love it very much.
