Disclaimer: I'm the nutjob that hasn't taken a class on the Ellisimo... I still haven't really read the manual... I'm just poking along having a good time!

So today, I grabbed my Tweetie Bird thumb drive instead of my Sylvester thumb drive (I couldn't remember which one had just one design on it... and which one had my folders with all of my embroidery designs I've been buying) ...

Anyway... big discovery - Elllie G can navigate folders *just*fine*. How cool is that?

I don't know if I read it here, or if I just learned it through osmosis some embroidery classes I've taken - but I've heard that the designs couldn't be in folders. So that's what I've been doin'!

But today, I stuck the wrong thumb drive in the machine and it *totally* navigates through folders. Totally. Forward, backward, reads the folder names. Oh boy!

This sure changes things. lol

All the Baby Lock embroidery machines can read folders..and it actually makes it faster to navigate through a lot of designs. The machine only reads the open folders, not everything on the thumb drive. So it is faster to open them. Great discovery! And do take those classes on your EG, you will learn lots more. You have a lovely machine, but then you know that.

I downloaded the manuals to my iPad... but every time I start to read through them, I get bored to tears.

I did read through the Inspiraton Guide (which, IMO, is a bit overrated - I didn't get much outta that). But someone that hasn't been exposed to loads o' accessory footsies and all might really benefit from this binder.

I know I've heard it over and over... "no folders"... so I just assumed so with this machine. Maybe I read it when I got that little Brother SE400 on Amazon ... (which is still priced about $50 lower than what I paid 6 months ago! what a deal!) ....

In any event.. what a nice feature.

I got mine in Oct 2010. I am taking the Mastery Basics on Monday!
But my manual is quite dog-eared.
I am so excited about the classes though. I had my first Evolution Class 2 weeks ago and bought that in 2009 (i think). But manual remains quite new.
My only excuse is that I used to live in the wilderness of MT- an overnight trip to the dealer.
Now I'm in FL and just minutes down the road. Oh what fun! So much to browse and buy in these cities.
