Date: 1/31/13 0:20 AM I recently purchased the Floriani Total Control software. I have the Husquvarna Viking 4D Pro that I no longer need. Can I sell it privately? I have all of the manuals and the dongle. I want to just sell it cheap, I hate to just toss it.
Any thoughts?

Date: 1/31/13 4:08 AM It looks like it cannot be resold. Check out the website Here under software transfer.
ETA-- above applies if software was registered.

Date: 1/31/13 10:49 AM I would take it in to your Viking/Pfaff dealer. I bought the 3D used from a dealer and he was able to put it on my computer and register it my name . The dealers would probably love to have a used one to sell for a customer that wants a machine but does not want to cough up the extra for the software. They would know what to do for you anyway. ------ "The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." Theodore Rubin

Date: 1/31/13 11:09 AM yes you can sell your software. Since you no longer need it.
it will work on pfaff machine too. I would put it on ebay and start with a price of 250. Since it is the pro they are very expesive.
I've seen them sell for 400-600 dollars on ebay.
If you want the most out of it start there. If nothing else sell it on your local graigslist. I bought my pfaff 4d software there.
Once the software is registered you can't transfer it to another person. But when the person buys it she can add it to her registered software. That is what I did. The other person can use it with out a problem. Hope this helps.

Date: 1/31/13 12:23 PM Is the following (found at the link previously provided) what you are referring to with regard to a second owner?

Date: 1/31/13 8:13 PM So, how does the new owner register the software she is wanting to sell?
I looked at the DigitSmith website as they have just about everything you would want to know about machine embroidery and found nothing about reselling software.

Date: 1/31/13 8:59 PM Can't the new owner use it if it is not registered to them? As long as they have the dongle, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to. ------ Cathryn |
