Date: 2/1/13 5:39 PM I have the option of buying a Viking 660E for about $800! I don't know what to do as I was aiming more at the Brother PE770 or the Innovis, beginner here. Does anyone know if the Viking has to constantly be hooked up to the computer.....any opinions on the price would be WONDERFUL......I am so new and so hesitant here because all the machines sounds wonderful. Thanks so much! |

Date: 2/1/13 10:06 PM Buy what you can afford with USB connectivity, an embroidery area of at least 5 x 7 (the 600E has all this and more) and from a dealer where you can touch and test the machines, receive service when necessary, ask questions and take classes or receive lessons.
Purchasing from a website or an individual will not provide you with services as needed, answer questions or offer lessons.
New, first owner machines have warranties and used machine do not. Although, sometimes a dealer will offer their own limited guarantee on a used machine.
I found one site for the Viking that gave a through overview and a price of $1,200. This review is almost two years old and I do not know if the price is that of a particular dealer, or the MSRP.
Review for Viking 600E
The 600E does look enticing...compare with the list given in the review to make sure all the accessories are with the machine.
PS:The only sewing machines that need to be connected to a computer to embroider are the older model Singers that were not computerized.
