5 members like this. Date: 2/3/13 7:29 AM I stopped by my dealer on Thursday to see if they had a particular Kwik Sew pattern. Next thing I know I'm test driving an 830. I talked to DH about it when I got home and he said...go get it! I brought it home yesterday and WOW, what an awesome machine. I got home at 2:30 and was embroidering a jumbo design by 4:00. I have heard so much negative about this machine and had not even considered it until Thursday. I will write a review in a couple of months after I've checked her out thoroughly, but just out of the box, I am a happy, happy girl. Just had to gush a bit. Anyone know if there is an 830 Yahoo group? |

Date: 2/3/13 8:21 AM Congratulations! I have an 820 which I love. The 830 really is a wonderful machine. I have only used the 830 in the store when teaching classes, but ooh la la! There is also a Bernina love thread here which is pretty active. Many people posting on that thread of 830's as well.

Date: 2/3/13 9:23 AM Congrats!! I've had my 830 since June 2011 and love it!! The only issue I've had with mine is the needle threader. It now works perfectly since the entire assembly was replaced last June. ------ ~Diana~

Date: 2/3/13 10:06 AM I have heard almost all the "issues" have been resolved. it was the same thing with the first 200's which upgraded to the 730's. At first they were buggy...but they got better and better until they were perfect. it seems the same with this machine. We are already 4 years out from introduction and it is getting near perfect. Bravo! IMHO if you have the money and enjoy sewing...this machine is the best you can get.
I SO love it when husbands support their wives in their hobbies and vice versa. My DH constructed my sewing room. ------ "The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." Theodore Rubin

Date: 2/3/13 10:41 AM My DH has bought so many big ticket items this year that he insisted. I'm the one that had a hard time deciding to spend the money. I've been fortunate to be able to buy 3 TOL machines. I LOVED my Pfaff 2140, but started having issues with the machine and the dealer could not get it right. After sinking $600 into replacing parts, I gave up and bought the 730. I never bonded with the machine, but I love the dealer. So far, I am in love with this machine. I got up at 5am and started playing again. I'm just like a kid at Christmas! I've tried the embroidery, piecing with the dual feed and now I'm working my way through the D feet. So many things to do. |

Date: 2/3/13 12:34 PM Would you mind joining our Bernina Made to Create thread and share your learning? We have a few ladies with the 830 and it is so much fun to share and hear what is going on. I find it interesting that you did not bond with the 730...is it the toodootoodootoo noise? Mine just takes everything I throw at her...her name is Sparkles. Date: 2/3/13 12:42 PM We must have the same 75th anniversary machine I like the machine, just not in love with it. I kept it, that was one of my hubby's stipulations, keep the 730. He never trades in anything. It will be fun to use them both sitting side by side.
I'll head over to the other thread! |
