Newbie & 630 Opinions on the 630

I have the opportunity to buy a well used 630 from someone I know very well. I bought an 185E from her a few years ago and thought it would be my only Bernina. She is having health issues and is giving up her quilting/embroidery business. I am excited to upgrade to this machine. Opinions of the machine please. Thanks, Susan B.

What does she want for the entire set up? I love my 630 for piecing. I have not sewn any clothing with it so far. I do not have the module for embroidery. Does a BSR come with it or not? We need more information so we can help you make an informed decision. The 630 is a fantastic machine. Oh, and welcome to PR. Check out the Bernina Love Thread too. She is religious about having her machines cleaned a serviced. It includes the embroidery module, all feet and the BSR for $1K. I have been so happy with my 185E from her and trust her that the machine is in great condition.

And what a deal! I just recently bought a 635 and I am loving it. This is actually my second 630/635. I sold my first one five years ago to buy a 730. I am so glad to have one again!

I've had mine for almost 3 years and I love it. I mostly piece quilts and I use the embroidery module to make quilt labels. I don't use the BSR. I learned how to free motion quilt before getting the 630 and the BSR can't keep up with me. I have a long arm for quilting.
