Oh ... PORTLANDMAINE.... Babylock Serenade questions for ya!

I'm looking at picking up a Babylock Serenade. I realize it's pretty much like a Pfaff Smarter C1100 Problem is, by doing my Googling around, I can't find what letter machine code the Smarter falls under to shop for accessories on the PFaff site. Go any idea what letter code works to identify what accessories will work with the Serenade? And I guess I should ask this: Do you know (for certain) that the feet from the Smarter fit the Serenade? ------ nightowlsally.com On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel. Date: 2/3/13 12:45 PM The Pfaff Smarter, Babylock Serenade and the Singer L-500 are the same machine. I own the Singer version and have a review here on PR if you'd like to check it out. When the L-500 first came out, it got a bad rap, somewhat deservingly so. I had issues with my first one and then the same issues with my second one. I was able to resolve my cutter issues and have learned to live with the backstitching quirks. I've never had the message errors that some have gotten repeatedly. HTH So what about buying additional feet for it? If you go to the Pfaff online Accessory Catalog ... it looks like this machine might be a "G" or "J" - although it's not listed. When I purchased the 9960, it came with a variety of feet that also work on the L-500. The L-500 itself came with a group of feet also. I'm not much of a "foot nut" yet. In my memory there were a few things about the babylock .. And, I think the end of the machine the part to the left of the needle is a touch bigger than on the Pfaff -- I also think the extension table comes with the babylock machine. (I had to buy the extension table, and it came with some feet-- I never really used them I dont use many feet? Make sure you play with the machine before you buy it - the most annoying thing about the machine to me was the needle up/down button ... the Pfaff reset it-self to needle up every time I used the snips button - it drove me crazy. I wanted to love that machine I had - I tried to love it It is a machine with lots of power. I can speak to that. ------ Drag queen quilter!

I've been Googling about these machines for a few hours! (What can I say? It's Sunday... no dealers are open or I'd be trolling a Pfaff dealer today!) Anyway... I found this post: Using a different ankle on the Serenade here on PR... and supposedly that worked for ButterBean to get Pfaff feet to fit on her Singer L500. Date: 2/3/13 6:03 PM Hi, I have the Singer L500 and also a Pfaff 2040. I found that I needed to replace the shank on the L500 to be able use my Pffaf feet. The 2040 is 7mm and the L500 is 9mm so I need to be careful when using zigzag stitches. I have purchased a lot of 9mm feet for my L500 and have not had any problems if I use them with the Pfaff shank. Hope this helps.

If I can get that wide range of Pfaff feet to fit, then this is going to be a fun machine to own. Do you happen to know if I have to shop the "G" or "J" range of feet (or possibly would either work?) on the Pfaff site?
