Batting question How many can I piece together?

I have a 45x72 quilt, and thought instead of waiting to order or purchase more batting, I would just use two crib sized. Two was going to be way too large, so I needed to cut one down a bit. I cut in the wrong direction, and now would have to piece the batting in three places! Is this a problem, or have any of you done this? Worked like a charm and you cannot tell at all once it's been quilted. Just cut it into strips and iron over the intersection to hold the pieces together (continuously without gaps) and make sure that somehow you get some quilting in that area for extra hold.

Knowing me, I'll sew it. Do you cut yours in a wavy shape, or just straight?
