Brand New Sensation, hope that's ok !!? Cut down vibration?

I just brought her home with a Gidget 11 table. But she vibrates so bad when I try to sew fast, that I have to slow way down. I'm off to place a mat under her (poor dear) it will hopefully help some, but with as bad as her shakes are I doubt it will stop. She is so light for an embroidery machine, I can pick her up!!! If she were heavy, she probably wouldn't shake. Kind of like me when I'm cold, I need to gain some weight...lol She is on carpet, and I am having an insert made, which may help too. But I'm wondering if anyone else has a Gidget for their PCP and if she vibrates? Do I need a heavier table ? Thanks for any help !! Julia

I haven't tried him on the Gidget. My table is for my serger and CS machines, and for Kee (B750). It's decent for the price, and I was impressed by the Gidget videos showing very little vibration...but mine does vibrate. When the machines are sitting on my kitchen countertop they don't vibrate at all even at full speed. I would try your Sensation on a solid surface, or even the floor, and see how much difference there is. You may need a more solid table for the machine. No shaking! Have you tried the machine on a kitchen or dining table to see if the machine itself is vibrating too much? If that turns out to be the case - have dealer help. Meanwhile make sure table is level (I am pretty sure you have done this already though) and firmly put together - those braces need to really be locked into place when you set the table up. They don't tell you to put it on the floor and stamp them in for nothing. Good luck and here's hoping this stops! :) ------ "Be kind whenever possible. I tried mine on carpet but it was so easy to push right over, very wobbly, altho probably wouldn't be with a machine on it...but I was too chicken to test that theory, lol! Mine is on my kitchen floor and it does wobble a bit, so the floor isn't even...no surprise in this old building! My little Bernina 350 is lightweight, but powerful. When I put it on one of those plastic banquet tables, it vibrates. When at home in it's all wood well that's built into my wood sewing counter, it does not vibrate or move even at full speed. Could be that when on a not as solid surface, the machine is more powerful than it's weight can handle. I agree with Lynn, a more solid surface may be needed. I've heard of no vibrating on some yahoo groups that have been discussing the Gidget II recently, but those machines are likely heavier than yours. My Bernina 730 does shake something awful when I engage and go fast with the BSR foot, even on my wood counters. But, on the old very heavy banquet tables with the brown tops, it didn't vibrate. I've cleaned up and plan to put underneath her a foam mat I had on my kitchen floor whose surface is marred now. I will report back. I need to play around with my table, see if there's something I can do to stop the vibrating. Besides finding a level spot on my floor, lol! Date: 2/5/13 4:11 PM I have taken my Activa Bernina 3/4 size machine places (like classes and church) to sew where it vibrates but at home in my stationary cabinets (no lift, just a well) it does not vibrate at all. I had a Gidget 2 and relocated it because of vibration so in my case with an 18 pound machine it was the table. I use a SewEzi now with no vibration. The SewEzi is shorter and wider and has a different contraption for holding the shelf - maybe sturdier? I agree with Mary, the white banquet tables are the absolute worst. zo think that any machine at certain high speeds interacts with the surface. Try slowing down or even speeding up to see what changes. Leslie ------ Bernina Gal

Seems everything I work on needs more precision and there's no way I can "hit it" to the point of vibration being an issue. ------ nightowlsally.com On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
