Date: 2/7/13 8:58 AM Hi, my 7 year old daughter has started skating lessons. A friends older daughter has been very kind and has helped her round the rink during the public session after. I would like to make her daughter some funky skate boot covers as a gift to say thank you. She is about a size 2-3 age 11.
I have made leotards before so am okay with stretch fabric but don't have a pattern for boot covers. I've seen some jalie dress patterns with boot covers but at present only want the boot covers.
As I don't have a boot cover to work from or the skates, can anyone tell me where I can buy or download a pattern for just the skate covers?
I have loads of stretchy fabric so am ready to sew.
Thanks. ------ My machines; Bernina 135S, Brother FS-40, Elna 2300, Bernina Serger 800DL.

Date: 2/8/13 1:13 AM After researching this a bit on the web, I think you're going to have to break down and buy the Jalie pattern. It is pretty much the only pattern out there, it's multi-sized, and it's not that expensive. |

Date: 2/8/13 8:02 AM Thanks for researching and posting back.
I'd done the same and come to the same conclusion too.
At least I can keep the pattern if my 7 year old gets more into skating she'll need some dresses too.

Date: 2/22/13 3:15 PM I followed these instructions and made my own pattern.
I roughly guessed and added a little for seam allowances and hem.
I have to say they have turned out pretty good.
My daughter is really pleased with them.
