Date: 2/7/13 7:53 PM So, I made my collar. The chiffon behaved without any need for gelatin. The feed dogs didn't eat it, and it didn't fray. But .. I'm not sure I like how it turned out. The french seams keep the curve from laying as flat as it should.
This is the pattern .
I'll see how it looks after a good pressing, but
I may end up using something else for the collar .. it's not like I don't have any other fabric. |

Date: 2/8/13 1:40 PM I am not sure the french seams are a good idea when used in the curve. I would just stitch, trim and then do a narrow zig zag to enclose the reaw edge and trim again. The zig zag shouldn't be too tightly spaced and if you understitch it would not curl. Just an idea ------ JanieV |
