I worked at Goodwill Industries 6 years ago and I was really proud of my organization. I really felt that everyone there was working for the same mission and putting others above themselves every day. But then we moved . .
Anyhow. Just before I left there were rumors about Goodwill doing some online site similar to ebay. I've remembered and forgotten about it several times; I eneded up on the site, shopgoodwill.com last week and won a bulk of zippers for $34!
I think the next thing I might check out is one of the lots of knitting materials. I have two sizes of knitting needles, but I could see the convenience of having a stash of many sizes tucked away somehwere.
I posted pictures of my loot on my blog Leu, sewing in NYC

Date: 2/8/13 4:03 PM Wow! Great deal!
Do get yourself a stash of knitting needles -- I have multiples of many sizes! It is a luxury worth indulging!
And I love Goodwill. In my area, they are very active and will take donations of things that other charities turn up their noses at -- like working, but older TVs. I don't shop there -- only 'cause I need to give to them more than I need to bring more into the house!!! ------ Karen
