Does anyone have any really good mail order sources in Canada?
Looking for 100% linen (preferably Belgian) and heavyweight numbered canvas duck...
Any vintage sources would also be fantastic.
Thanks,

Date: 2/11/13 2:49 AM Not sure about linen but Distinctive Sewing Supplies (ON) have a lot of very good quality fabrics. They access Telio and Eliot Berman which both have wonderful European fabrics.
In Edmonton there's a store called Estee's Fabrics and they specialize in high quality fabrics as well. Don't know if they have a website but I'm sure if you asked for a swatch they'd send you one. |

Date: 2/15/13 7:45 PM Thanks so much for the suggestions - hadn't heard of either of those.
I also stumbled across a store called Mitchell's in Winnipeg that does mail order and carries an extensive line of fabrics. |

Date: 2/15/13 11:02 PM Mitchell's is a brick and mortar store here in Winnipeg -- about a third of the main floor is garment fabric, another third quilt fabric and the other third is a mixture of fleece, spandex fabrics (dance, etc. type fabrics). They also have a small bridal department. The lower level of the store is pretty much exclusively home dec except for their "blast from the past" Vintage Department.
They have a good sized bargain/remnant/clearance area on both the main level and in the basement.
Mitchell's has been at their current location in Winnipeg on the corner of Main and Logan for over 50 years if I remember correctly.
