I'm planning on going to OKC tomorrow to complare s/m. I called today to see which machines they had available and prices. $2,999 for Esante and $4,000 for an Ellageo Plus or Ellageo 3. The Pfaff CP is $5,000 both offer zero interest. The Pfaff told me they were moving to a new location They arehigher than I've read on the message board. I'm not good at negotiating. The Pfaff dealer told me the CP was going up in price.

I don't know anything about Babylock prices, but I have the Pfaff Creative Performance and I paid 5,000 for mine. That price included the large embroidery unit. I think the price I paid was fair, though not the cheapest I've seen around here. I think MSRP for the machine and large embroidery combo is 6,000.

Good luck checking out machines!

Once you are at the store, the price will probably come down some. The prices you were quoted are not set in stone. If you're not a good negotiator, just ask when they are having the next sale and you'll probably hear "its on sale now" or some such thing...so then ask if they can do better on the price and if you reach a stand-still then as a last resort, ask for some extra thing you want to be thrown in. maybe an extra hoop or a work-book, software, walking foot or feet or whatever. and knowing what others paid does help you to know what you should expect to pay before negotiations start.

Yeah what sewfrequent said, and don't be afraid to ask about demo and show models, my Ellageo plus was $2800 because it was a show model.

My trip to OKC is canclled due to snow. We are in a severe drought and really need the moisture but did it have to come today??

I paid $5000 for my Pfaff CP with the large embroidery unit at my local dealer. The dealer 50 miles away wanted $6000 and would not budge on that price.

Sorry the snow kept you home, but moisture is good. We are in a severe drought in Colorado as well. We had the snow yesterday that you have today, but we need more, much more.

Aww bummer for you! We are a bit dry here too but 30 inches of snow 2 weeks ago has certainly helped.

Is there a quilt show in your area? Prices tend to be bettr during a quilt show.

Things you can say are: Is that the price if I buy it today?
Are there any sales coming up? (maybe President's Day)
Does that price include any extra accessories?
Is there a discount for cash?
My local dealer has 3 different locations and you can go to each one on the same day and get a different price on the same machine.
