Embroidering on Stretch Wovens twill with 2-way stretch

Date: 2/13/13 10:59 AM I'm putting a fairly large (8x8) embroidered applique on some stretchy twill and am wondering if anyone has some tips on hooping and stabilizing. The good news is this is not for a garment so the fabric will not be required to stretch. I chose for the color and texture. Here's my thinking: -don't hoop -Stitch N Wash fusible -top with heat n gone or water soluble Your thoughts? ------ Indecision may or may not be my problem. -Jimmy Buffet http://chihuahuaonmylap.blogspot.com/

However, the tear away may not stand up to a lot of stitching as each stitch will perforate the tear away.

This was my first experience with the water stick and it was...interesting. The cutaway helped keep the stitches uniform, I think, which was necessary because of the amount of stretch in the twill. I did use the Janome Blue Tipped needle, also. I'll post a pic later today. Date: 2/14/13 10:58 AM I did this on 2-way denim/lycra stretch; I just hooped it, with a layer of stabilizer beneath the fabric. ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life!
