Projects that never got off the ground

I started thinking about quilting projects I started in good faith. Thought I loved the pattern and then just did not interest me. Most of the time it's projects I made up so not too big a loss. But the one below. I spent a small fortune on fabric as it was one you have to have everything in the beginning as the way the blocks were put together. Chaos And indeed it was. Don't know what I was thinking. I don't like bold colors like that all together. Would go with nothing in my house. It was a lot of work. I do think it would be beautiful in pastel colors, grey in place of black, batiks, umm thinking, NO. (Thankfully once I get it, it tends to stick.) When I saw the quilt you linked to, I remembered a suede jacket I bought in high school. Remember the suede jackets with all the fringe back in the hippie hey days? The first time I wore it, I felt like I was in a costume. I couldn't even see it in the fitting room. We thought we were something. When I went to school in the 70's almost anything was in but me and my friends usual attire were jeans, earth shoes, and flannel shirts or sweaters (pretty ones of course) and the boys wore basically the same things. Although they wore mostly those green army jackets and denim jackets. Remember the suede jackets with the sheepskin trims? Oh and let's not forget the peanut pants, pants so low, well I won't say with the wide belts. I've seen 70's fashion copied so much since it was in it isn't funny. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

LMAO or send them to Barb with her other 4,878 she WILL finish Because I only began to learn to quilt in November it's not too horrible yet! I do have a quilt4kids I used my stash fabric on and tried a new idea - To spider web the sashing *thinking* it would look cool - where it worked it does look pretty cool, but only where it worked.. got 1 wild seam I can NOT figure out how to tame -- so it sits. How do you force yourself to get back to something gone wrong? Date: 2/19/13 10:17 AM I pulled out all my quilting patterns I've brought, not many about 10 or so. 6 of them being wolf designs. But I started looking at the Chaos one again and thinking of it in pastels with gray replacing black and I thought it might a a worthy project. I spent quite a lot of money on the fabric for that as I still had the receipt, and I couldn't find it last night. I can't see myself dumping that much fabric so it must be somewhere. But it's from 2007 so who knows. That's the one issue with it you need like 6 fabrics and you need them all at once. So a pricey project. Fabric back then was so much cheaper than now, so if it was A LOT it is worth doing up. Tonight I began going through my UFO's... uh more than I thought -- just need a tag on this one (quilt labels came in after some were done), and other's I do want to get to now -- Now that Easy Street is DONE!
