 1 member likes this. Since I am in the middle of 2 major quilts right now, and he needs a quilt for his bed NOW since the one on it is full of holes, I ordered him one from Pottery Barn kids.

I don't know why I had such a hard time doing it! It was $109.00 for a twin size madras plaid all cotton quilt. I could not even make him one for that.
I am STILL going to make him his dinosaur quilt, but now I have time to plan it out and no pressure to get it finished.
His room is going to be painted a rich dark chocolate brown on the bottom half and light blue on the top, so I thought the colors on this quilt were perfect! ------

It's silly that we ALL often put so much pressure on ourselves to make everything just because we know how (and also enjoy doing it.) Sometimes it take the joy right out of it though, and there are only so many hours in the day. I feel relieved for you! I also think you will enjoy making the dinosaur quilt so much more because you won't feel pressured or rushed and like you said, you will have time to plan it out.
And isn't the enjoyment in making something like this the most important part? ------

You will get to the others and he will have a choice of "who" to sleep with tonight. As most of yours are cartoon type charactors, and we all know he loves those.

Cuddle quilts are more fun, anyway! You don't have to make them so big and they don't have to match anything  ------

1 member likes this. My boys had Nemo "quilts" as toddlers and I bought a real, scrap quilt for my older son a few years ago, from a guild sale, for $175 because he just loved it. It travels back and forth between our beds. ------

It hasn't arrived yet, but I did notice that now it's $20 more than what I paid for it! And I got free shipping. When I went to check out I noticed they charge a shipping/handling fee. It was $27.00!! for a quilt, pillow sham and sheet set.
At least now I know to wait for free shipping deals before I order from them.
He does LOVE his quilts and blankets. He brings his huge fleece 'elephant' blanket with him when he stays here. He was making his mom bring his monster quilt too, but she finally convinced him to leave it at home.
It is so cute to see this little toddler dragging around these great big blankets. It makes it so worth it for me to make them for him when I see how much he loves them.
I am getting ideas for his dinosaur quilt! I got him the coolest dinosaur sheets form PB Kids. So far I haven't found anyplace that has sheets for kids as awesome as theirs. ------

When older son is mad, he confiscates the scrap quilt off my bed if it's there. The ultimate punishment!
