Date: 2/19/13 2:06 PM Lucky me to be at the right place at the right time to score a machine looking for a new home. A fellow member of PR was looking for a new home for a Kenmore 158-18141. A dear neighbor had passed it on to her after her death. I answered Judy's ad and voila, I have the machine! It is spic and span with instructions, 3 boxes of cams, including a monogrammer and button hole maker. Lucky me! I had to tweak it a bit by changing the needle, etc., but no bird nests in the bobbin area. Now I am testing the machine and putting it through its paces. So far, it performs very well! -- Edited on 2/19/13 10:09 PM -- |

Date: 2/19/13 5:30 PM I saw that and so glad someone bought it. It is very close to mine that I bought in 1980. It is still going strong. I have babied it in recent years as I am terrified that it will stop working but I probably don't need to worry. It is a workhorse! I don't have the monogrammer but the buttonholes are the best! It might not like to sew knits-mine doesn't. Oil it, clean it out once in awhile and sew sew sew! Have fun and let us know how it is doing. |
