Date: 2/23/13 3:31 PM My office is (indoors) on the roof of a NYC school. The other day, I was bumming around outside looking at all the junk that's been tossed out on the roof and I found, all mangled, this wonderful hanger:

Holds a shirt, coat, or jacket!
Clip on skirt or pants!
A HOOK for hanging whatever else!
And it's a nice thick chrome.
Here's the rub...I've been hunting on the internet and I can only find China wholesalers.
I want this hanger! Don't you?
:(

Date: 2/23/13 3:35 PM Mine have red instead of black & bought in the later 70's, early 80's. Sorry, can't say I've seen any lately. Maybe try thrift stores? |

Date: 2/23/13 5:51 PM I have a few of these - some of the more recent are white vinyl coated metal. Don't remember how or when I purchased them but think they came in packs of no more than 2 to 5. I did find, however, find these chrome ones online. linens n things I use the few I have more specifically for holding the many traced and revised pattern pieces using the skirt grips and then slip the muslin I'm working on (if I get that far) over the hanger....where they can continue to age like a good wine. |

Date: 2/23/13 8:46 PM I have seen those around.. use to have a few.. don't even know if I still have any or not.. They were real popular way back...
I would try a clothing store.. and then I would go ask a dry cleaners.. I bet they have a catalog with special hangars in it you could order.. |

Edited to add. they also have a red trashcan.. the kind you step on to raise the lid.. now you just got to wonder if it would go well with your Berninas.. -- Edited on 2/24/13 7:14 AM -- |
