Date: 2/24/13 8:49 AM I have a Bernina 580 that has the low bobbin sensor gone mad.
If I place a full bobbin into my machine, all is Ok. If I place a 2/3 full bobbin it starts stopping every 30 stitches and the empty bobbin alert comes out.
The machine is clean inside and has the 32.30.10 firmware.
I know Others have had this problem and would like to ask if the sensor needs to be changed or what.
My dealer told me to just switch it off in the menu as Bernina has not resolved this problem yet. Is this true?
Can anyone help here please? |

Date: 2/24/13 1:57 PM You are not alone as there is much discussion about this on the Yahoo group. An update seems to have fixed this for at least one person, but I'm always a little reluctant to install an update until it has been well tested. So, like many, I've turned off the feature and still love my 580. And yes, it's baffling why Bernina wouldn't have tested and corrected this before selling a machine at this price point, or any price point! Why don't they do what software sellers do, and place their product in the hands of real users to learn of all the kinks? ------ Let's just say all modern sms are well represented in my studio. |

Date: 2/24/13 4:37 PM Thank you for your answer.
Do you know if there is another firmware after the 32.30.10?
I do have the sensor turned off now in the menu but I'm not happy about this on a so expensive machine. |
