Carol's Obit

I don't know how many of you have taken classes at Quilt University. I've taken several over the years and it's an outstanding organization. Carol will be sorely missed.

She allowed a whole generation of quilters to improve their craft. May she rest in peace.

Obit suggests contributions to Susan G. Komen organization, so it's possible she or her family had a particular focus on breast cancer.

Oh how sad! Carol was a member of the Janome Yahoo group I belonged to, where she was a valued and experienced member.

I know that they found a malignant tumor on her spine a few months ago (she talked about it in the forum and in her newsletter). She was getting treatments and the community (the forum at QU) thought she was doing well.

As Karla suggests, the family asking for donations suggests breast cancer, but I don't remember ever hearing that breast cancer was involved.

Tess,, my mother passed away too of a cancerous tumor on her spine.. they cannot remove all tumors depending on wher they are located.. Over her last few months it spread to most all her organs etc.
But her first bout with cancer was breast cancer.. Although they did do a mastectomy. on and off over the years more cancers were found.. Most of them treatable until that last one .. So could be she did have breast cancer at one time.. or could be she like so many of us are big breast cancer supporters..
