Just finished wrapping up with my dealer and I purchased the Enlighten, along with the Inspirational Guide and 6 presser feet for $1850 total out the door. I opted to not go the financing option so I could get a better deal and I think I did. It's a heck of a purchase, but one thing I've noticed about Babylock sergers is they really hold onto their value and people like to hold onto them! LOL!

I go in on Friday and give a deposit. I can't wait to get started on this machine. My dealer gave me the workbook and the serger accessories guide to look over this past weekend. I had no clue all the things you can do with a serger! That's what helped me make my decision is seeing all the different things you can do.

Thanks to everyone for all your input!

For many years to come, you will be saying "BEST purchase EVER!" You'll also be loving your Enlighten for years to come. I still give mine a quick peck on his shiny little head before I put him away after using him. LOVE that serger!

CONGRATS on yours!

This looks like a wonderful serger! Congratulations!!! For those who own it how does this machine work cutting over really heavy layers. Can it serge over seams and a few layers of fleece? My Juki doesn't always like the layers, like making a fleece hat, etc.???

I never knew just how much easier a serger can make things until recently. Initially, I was looking to add another sewing machine to my lineup, like the Symphony or Crescendo. But after being fortunate enough to have the Eclipse and the Imagine land in my house and get to use them for a bit, I was literally floored at how awesome these machines are. Fortunately, I was able to sell the Imagine and the Pfaff Creative 1475 CD sewing machine that I bought off of CL to pay for the Enlighten. Not a bad trade-off!!!

It is definitely quite a bit of money to pay, but the thing that got me is many of the reviews on here are from people who have had these machines for YEARS. So I thought, if I'm going to get one, I might as well get the best I can afford. And after looking on eBay, it seems these things REALLY hold their value well. In fact, I was quite surprised to see some sell on eBay for just a couple of hundred less than what I could get at my dealer. After seeing that, I thought I might as well get new, with warranty AND classes. Plus, my dealer provides 5 years of adjustments for free. It's nice peace of mind to have, that's for sure. Plus, I'm looking at this as more of an investment too.

Can't wait to get it.
