What about a Shawl, or something smaller than a full sized dress in case the weight becomes an issue? A sweater/light weight coat?
Wish I could feel this fabric ------ I have great enthusium for sewing, but lack talent to be great.

A simple sheath or A-line. Something where the waist is defined by side seams or a belt - View A from S2059, NL 6803 or a shirt dress (if it doesn't have princess seams). But princess seams are better than a waist seam.
Just be careful w/ the pattern placement - don't want it to look like the birds are, um, nursing. |

Date: 2/28/13 1:07 PM Haha, nursing birds! Yes, I would prefer to avoid that...
I guess it's technically not "heavy" but after working with a lot of sari silk, everything seems heavy. It would probably be classified as a mid-weight twill |

Date: 2/28/13 1:43 PM Nope. Not weird. What about a pencil skirt? Sometimes a large print works well on that kind of simply shape. ------ Melanie |

Date: 2/28/13 1:59 PM If the fabric is stiff, I'd say, make it into a light coat, like this:

I made myself a light coat in off-white and thought I'd never wear it, but I do, more often than I thought, and WHEN I do, it's really smashing!

Date: 3/1/13 10:33 AM sometimes the best fabric prints can be found on shower curtains and sheets. keep your eyes open when there is a 'white sale'.
