This is just for fun. I only use this feature on the sewing/emb combo when embroidering because I have no choice. But not when sewing - I don't have a boss.

OK... that was just weird.

While I'm an old-dogs-new-tricks kinda sewist...and I usually use my foot pedal.... my 7 year old granddaughter LOVES that start/stop button on her machine compared to using a foot pedal.

And I love-love-love that start/stop button for bobbin winding as well as using the buttonhole foot when using the mending stitch.

Hi All, there was some confusion. I talked to initial party and deleted responses to that one so we can have a fresh start from here.
Thanks!

I don't know what any of you are talking about. I was just having fun with the song: "My name is Joe and I work in a button factory."

Let your hair down and laugh!

That little boy reminds me of my grandson.

He loves to sit with me and "help" me sew. Yesterday he sorted (threw all over the floor) my fabrics for me, along with 3 boxes full of thread.

And he LOVES to push the button on the machine to start it!

It usually goes something like
"Grandma, can I push it now?"
"No MJ you have to wait just a minute so I can get it ready"
"OK. Grandma can I push it NOW?"
"Hold on a second MJ, I have to make sure it's ready."
"Ok. Grandma when can I push it? Can I push it NOW?"

LOL!

This catchy little tune is sometimes sung by groups of children as a fun way to exercise.

"Joe's" boss keeps asking if he is busy, to which Joe replies, no. Each NO prompts the boss to add another motion to push the button. The song ends when Joe finally answers Yes!

I can't say I'm a fan either except for embroidery stitchouts and bobbin winding. Same with cruise control on my car. I'm glad it is there if I should decide I want to use it, but it seems more like an excuse to pay less attention to things. If I'm driving, I'm DRIVING - car or sewing machine. :D

it doesn't matter what type of sewing you do. you are sewing, and sewing is good.

I use the start button for bobbin winding but not for sewing because even at the slowest speed the machine sews much too fast. Also, it takes much less time and effort to start and stop the machine by tapping with my foot on the foot pedal than by reaching up to the tiny start button with my hand.
