Date: 3/1/13 9:22 AM I need some help, I have a "stitch master" deluxe automatic zig-zag machine (from Japan, uses pattern cams) that will not produce an even length stitch in straight or zig-zag mode. It seems the fabric is getting stuck on the feed dogs but I don't think that is it. I would be very grateful for any help and or suggestions. I would like to get this beautiful machine working right. It is so pretty and shows almost no signs of use. Which as I am typing this may be a sign that this is an issue since new...... ------ Yvonne proud owner and user of 2 singer 15-91s and one Singer Tiny Serger |

Date: 3/1/13 9:25 AM I want to mention that this happens on only one layer of flannel, cotton or corduroy. I have not tried more than one layer of anything. ------ Yvonne proud owner and user of 2 singer 15-91s and one Singer Tiny Serger |

Date: 3/1/13 9:28 AM Since you never sew on one layer of fabric, always test on two.
That said, a lot of the Japanese machines have a lever to raise or lower the feed dogs, and some even have three settings. Make sure the feed dogs are set on the highest setting. |

Date: 3/1/13 9:04 PM Thanks for the tip on the feed dogs. I will try again with feed dogs high and 2 layers and report back. ------ Yvonne proud owner and user of 2 singer 15-91s and one Singer Tiny Serger |
