Hi all,
I'm about to start the Rooibos and was planning on adding some unlined sleeves (short, cap, something like that) and a lining for the body. I have found some good tutorials for having the facing join the lining nicely in the actual dress but don't really know how it would work for the sleeves.

Generally speaking, how do you obtain a nice finish at the armscye in a lined dress with unlined sleeves?

I am not familiar with that pattern. However, I would sew the sleeves in the fashion fabric, sew the lining around the neckline-turn it and hand sew the lining armscye to the fashion fabric and the zipper if it has one.

You could baste the lining at the armscyes, set in your sleeves, and then use binding around the armscye seams to neaten it up. However I'm not familiar with the pattern you are using.

There are several ways to do this. Line the dress basting the lining to the armscye then set in the sleeves. Trim sas and then bind the seam with a strip of bias lining.
If the sleeve is sheer, then you'd want to press it towards the dress then turning back the lining sas, you would hand stitch it to the seam using a fell stitch.
