I'm just finishing up a buttoned down top and it fits great except there is a vertical wrinkle from the shoulder down to the apex? I'm wondering if from the shoulder to the apex is not long enough? I saw where someone else posted the same question but never got an answer.

That's probably true, but a photo would help.

Or maybe your shoulders are sloped more or less than the pattern.
Hard to tell from the description.

It's too wide in the front shoulder. Pin out the wrinkle and transfer the amount to the armscye and remove. If it were too short in this area you'd have horizontal wrinkles.
