Everyone is saying Saturday delivery & pick up is ending ... does anyone know when this begins? Our post office is only open for 2 hours now on Saturday & that ends on April 1st. Also opens later now & closes earlier. Now only 1 clerk too & closed for lunch break. Monday lines are awful!!
There use to not be Saturday delivery growing up or Saturday window hours so it does not bother me too much that this is happening. I wish I knew dates though. .......... Anyone know?

The post office plans to stop Saturday deliver starting in August (unclear as to exact date).

It is not set in stone, however.

And it's not supposed to affect post office hours. Only delivery and pickup.

In August the USPS will not deliver mail on Saturday EXCEPT for packages and registered I believe.

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone else remember the post office delivering twice a day? This would have been in the late 50s. I was quite young, and could easily be mixing it up with twice a day newspaper deliveries, or even different daily deliveries - newspaper, milk, mail, etc. I'd like to know if this really happened or if it's a false memory.

It may have been, in certain areas.

I remember during XMas time the mail being delivered 3 times on a Sunday.
