Date: 3/4/13 4:59 PM I read on a blog that the blogger received about a half yard extra on her order from FabricMart. Is it common for them to do that? I didn't order quite enough fabric, so I'm hoping that I might get a little extra fabric in my first order with them.

Date: 3/4/13 5:24 PM I would say about 20-30% of the time I will get any where from 3 inches to 12"extra. I find on the cheap stuff they will tho in more, and the expensive stuff they more carefully measure. I never count on it, but when it happens it is a nice surprise. |

Date: 3/4/13 7:25 PM I took advantage of a sale last week on Vera Wang linings for $1.99 yd. So I ordered 1 yd. each of 7 different colors. They came and were the wonkiest cut yards I've ever seen anywhere, but I measured each one and they were all over a yard...about 10" or so on average.
BTW the Vera Wang linings are fabulous...I like them better than the Bemberg Ambiance. |

Date: 3/4/13 10:58 PM Oh, thanks for that!!! I was wondering about them. I heard you can hand wash acetate, but sometimes it bleeds badly. Have you noticed if it held color OK? |

Date: 3/4/13 11:22 PM solveg, I have not pre-treated them so I have no info for you on that. Usually whatever I'm lining with them will be dry-clean only. |

Date: 3/5/13 9:26 AM We ( my dd and I) on several separate orders have rec'd anywhere from a 1/4 yd to a whole yard extra on all of the fabric ordered. It seems to me that it is more on the fabric I ordered more to begin with.
It is great after shopping at Joanns where you fell like they would short you if possible-the exactness of their measuring is frustrating to watch. |

Date: 3/5/13 12:14 PM Just a YEAH for FM. I called to get info about a fabric I need for an underlayer under a lace dress I am making. Chris pulled every fabric I was looking at and described it all to me, and answered all of my questions. SHe must have spent 30 min with me on the phone. Now I know why I love doing business there. She even looked in the wholesale area to see if she could find something that would work for me. |

1 member likes this. Date: 3/5/13 12:16 PM Fabric. com always gives a generous extra. I usually order just a yard for a T and they cut at least 1 1/ 4. Half the time I get 3/8 to 3/4 extra, especially on more yardage, so if you need a little extra, you don't have to buy another 1/2 yard. Since Amazon bought them, I've still had 2 orders like this. |
