Date: 3/8/13 7:38 PM Hi Michelle
I went to the show today. I pretty much saw everything so I don't think I will be going tomorrow. I enjoyed it and didn't think I was going to spend much, but still did.
Linda McPhee had nice bamboo/cotton/lyrca blend solid color fabrics and I got some of those as well as 3 quilting charm packs from Hammell's fabrics. Hammell's sure had a lot to tempt me in terms of various quilting packs etc but I kept myself in control. I also purchased a Threads sewing book from 'A Great Notion Sewing Supply'. I probably didn't need it but they always have 20% off the listed price and there is no shipping charge when its right there.
Even though the sewing show is not as large as when it used to be at the Conference Centre downtown I actuallyenjoy it more being at Pearkes Centre. Free and easier parking, no street people asking for money, etc.
Linda McPhee and the Material Girls (Sewing Workshop Patterns vendor) had free fashion shows and I enjoyed those also.
The one thing I did notice today was that there were very few younger people. I am not quite a senior yet, but today (work day for many younger people I imagine) I would guess that at least 75 - 80% were seniors. I'm beginning to wonder if sewing is becoming a dying art here in Victoria - I sure hope not.
Hope you enjoy yourself if you go tomorrow. ------

Date: 3/9/13 1:16 AM Sorry I couldn't make it yet again. I recently spoke to someone who went to the Puyallup show and said it was fantastic. Some classes had hundreds of people in them! ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |

I agree, mostly seniors there. I did notice that they are letting more crafts booths in such as scrapbooking and beading. ------ 2007 YTD
