Hi all! I've been working on this top forever. My biggest problem was that I underestimated the amount of stretch in this fabric. This is just test fabric, and it actually has a tad less stretch than my final fabric (maybe 5%?). Anyhow, I've gotten it to a decent place but it still needs some work.
I'm particularly concerned about the back and the drag lines under the armhole. Any advice on that is greatly appreciated.
I can tell from the side view that I need to do a FBA afterall... I kept adding to the side seams, but those lines just keep pointing at the girls. It also tends to ride up when I move around, esp reaching forwards and whatnot. Will the FBA help with that?
I also know that I need to rotate the sleeve a bit because it is a little tilted, and I hope this will also take care of some of that sagging at the back of the sleeve cap.
Again, any help is appreciated! ------ "Creativity is the residue of time wasted." Albert Einstein.
No wonder I just keep getting more and more creative! |

Many of the problem wrinkles on the back are due to the shirt trying to pull itself up and forward to accommodate your bust, and until you do the FBA, it's harder to tell what other problems are separate from that. ------ Debbie |

Date: 3/8/13 12:18 PM Wonderful work! It looks good. I agree that an FBA will help. I also see that your shoulder seams could come in a bit-you appear more narrow through the shoulders than the pattern as drafted. ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/

It's so helpful to see pictures and then read comments from the more experienced people on this board.
marec - I appreciate your comment about the shoulder seams. I have a hard time judging them on my body (I guess I have this mental image that my frame should be the size of a bill board.) ------ Mary

Date: 3/8/13 2:11 PM I think you will need to do a sway back adjustment as well. |

Date: 3/8/13 3:46 PM Although it can be tedious to work at a pattern until you get a TNT, it's really worth it. I'd start with the FBA as others have suggested, but do one alteration at a time because one change can sometimes make the next one unnecessary. You'll love having a good TNT knit top pattern! |

Date: 3/8/13 5:01 PM I thought the horizontal "fish eye dart" IS a swayback adjustment. Am I wrong? ------ Judy |

Date: 3/9/13 0:05 AM It would remove the excess and that could just be the pattern is to tight across the hips, or not. ------ “I don’t give them Hell, I just tell the truth about them and they think it’s Hell.” — Harry Truman |

Pin out and even amount all the way around front and back between the bust and waist. So that the fabric is not getting hung up on the butt.
You might not need the full bust adj. |
