Everyone is so generous with their time, writing reviews to share on PR. May I make a suggestion? Instead of stating what size we sewed, could we instead say "I used the size that corresponded to my [full bust measurement, waist, hip - whatever]". Or "I dropped down one size" or (horrors) "I had to go up a size to get it up over my hips." That way, when we look at the picture of the finished garment, we can get a better idea of how to achieve the fit we want. I can tell you all day long that "I made a size 10" but that won't tell you much unless you know that either I am lying or the pattern is horrendously oversized.

That's a great suggestion.

When I see a review with a picture and the garment fits well, that's always my first question. What size did you make and how did you choose it!

Then I love to hear what alterations were made.

Karla, maybe you could post that suggestion under Request New Features, under Announcements. Deepika could/should add the question on the form: Why did you select this size and what fitting situations did you encounter?

I would rather learn those things than have the reviewer go on and on about where they bought the fabric and how much they paid for it and what the clerk was wearing.

Photos of the back, especially pants,, would be nice too, but we can't have everything I guess.

I almost always include the size I used in my reviews and often wished people would be more specific in sizing used and their own body measurements. Sometimes , it's hard to tell from pics if someone is 5'10" or 5'1" and even with this height range people can actually look the same size if they're well proportioned.

Although my reviews do not always include my measurements, they're in my bio which includes height) below my avatar in all my reviews as well as in every tagline at the bottom of my posts. It was my hope that by clicking on the bio link that someone, especially a body twin with similar fit issues, could find this info useful.

I realize that personal measurements can be a sticky issue, but tucking them away in the bio where people tend not to look is a nice little secret. It's not putting it all out there in a very visible location, but if someone wants to hunting for the info it's there. When I find my body twins, I do look at the bios to see if any other useful info is there.

I would also like to make a suggestion on the reviews, not the reviews themselves, but the comments. They've changed it so that when you make a comment, you get mail on everyone's comment. I have noticed a lot fewer comments lately unless it is truly a bang up or tons of effort. It would be nice just to give a positive comment without getting a lot of mail back. If we could post a "follow" for a pattern, like you do for a conversation, that would be perfect. If I have a pattern in my stash I might want to follow the talk or the pattern to learn difficulties, substitutions, or alternate methods, without a lot of extra email on those patterns.
Others I simply want to compliment the sewist on the nice outcome, not follow everyone's comments.

Vivian,
You can change this: Under MY Stuff in the red column on the left side of the PR screen, go to Notifications. You can opt to NOT receive a notification when someone else comments on a review.

Yes, but then that means you dont get any notififications on any reviews. I would like to follow a few that interest me but I cant because I was getting too much email due to leaving comments.
Its a shame because I think comments are really helpful AND I would like to get notifications on the 3 brands/models of sm that I am interested in.
