Date: 3/11/13 5:17 PM I have a toddler boy, but have come across a lot of things that I would love to sew if I ever have a girl (or for neices). I definitely prefer the independant designers. Here's a few places I have bookmarked:
Peek A Boo patterns
Create Kids Couture
Fishsticks Designs (mostly boys, but I have the majority of her patterns & they most definitely can be altered to be more feminine)
Lilybird Studio (on Etsy)
Go To Patterns (a curated pattern shop that carries several independant designers)
The Fabric Fairy- a nice fabric store with lots of knits but has a wonderful selection of patterns from indepedant designers |

Date: 3/11/13 5:52 PM Most of the Oliver + S patterns go up to a size 12.
They have superb instructions, and always go together beautifully in my experience. ------ Wendy

Date: 3/11/13 6:30 PM Oliver S does have some cute things alright. Not exactly small indie companys, but...
As far as bang for your buck, I'd consider Jalie...so many sizes that they will last well into preteen and heck , most are combined with Women's sizes too.
Young Image also intrigues me, they have some selections that go up to young teen sizes.

Date: 3/11/13 6:42 PM Farbenmix is a company that's extremely popular among German sewists for their cute kids patterns which are also available with English instructions. They have some patterns for adults, too. ------ Happy Sewing! |
