I'm a beginner, just made my first project (an apron :)). Now I want to make a robe for my husband. He's always using mine, I have like three & he doesnt have any. I want to make it out of silk or something nice and soft, not terry. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Im so happy to have joined this site. Btw my name is Sandra.

Sandra, welcome!

heh, my husband has often done the same with my robe. I usually have terry in the winter. My summer robe is a nice cotton jersey knit, which may be the sort of thing you want for a lighter robe. I don't imagine silk being all that comfortable on damp skin, but haven't tried it....

I would try to figure out why he is wearing it. Is it to warm up? After a shower to absorb dampness? Just to grap as a cover up?
That will determine which fabric to use.
My DH had a cotton one but he wanted it lined with terrycloth to use coming in from the hot tub on cold winter nights.
It turned out just perfect- he also wanted vents in the sleeves! Made no sense to me why. He said he sweats and wanted cool air but I am puzzled why he would warm up with terry after a hot tub if he is sweating??? Oh well. I cant say he asks for much and I am terribly glad to see him wearing it often.

Thank you ladies :). We live in Miami so it would have to be something cool. The jersey knit sounds great. I'm keeping in mind when I visit Joann's. maybe I should make him two
