I have an old (o-l-d) sports bra I've been wearing FOREVER, because they discontinued it several years ago. To my delight, it's back, and I just ordered a new one. Yay!
I had forgotten, however, that there's not a lot of cushioning in the straps (well, there *is,* but oddly it's in the wrong place. Anyway.). Ages and ages ago I cannibalized another bra for the shoulder strap cushions. (I was looking at it today, and it's actually quite a nice alteration job! LOL)
Google and Amazon tell me that you can actually buy detachable cushions--again, yay!--but I'm looking to attach them permanently. Many are described as "silicone," and I'm not sure what that means. Are they kind of rubbery (that doesn't sound very comfortable)? Would I be able to sew through them?
Or is this a bra-making part you can buy?
Can anyone offer some guidance? I would happily sacrifice another bra again, but the kind I wear now don't have/need the padded straps.
