Hopefully, this will worry other mfg. in the increasing lowered quality of RTW and sewing fabrics:

The Canadian retailer pulled it yoga pants from the market after complaints they were too thin. The recall is expected to lower first-quarter earnings and stock prices, one of several quality mistakes recently that has alienated its regular customers.

You in Canada are probably hearing more of this!

New York City media is carrying this item WITH PHOTOS. The pants are SO THIN that they reveal everything. EV-ERY-THIN-G.

And, of course, if you're doing a yoga move that requires you to bend over...well, they basically become transparent.

The company will lose millions and the stock value has already fallen.

One would think the LLL people would have looked at that fabric first, before having the factories make those pants.

Yes, I caught part of this story on NPR's Marketplace the other day. I think there was argument back from the manufacturer that the pants/fabric met LLL's specs. My constant fear as a sewer is not being able to buy quality fabrics, especially if they're not being manufactured because people start accepting lower RTW standards. In this sense, I'm glad there's been an up rise against bad fabric because there's still a chance for us!

Yes, but I read an article in which Lululemon refused to admit that the fabric was thinnner or of lower quality. They insisted that it was merely more transparent. "The ingredients, weight and longevity qualities of the pants remain the same but the coverage does not," the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said in a PR statement issued late on Monday. Talk about CYA!

For a couple of years I've been hearing from my clients that the fabric quality and sizing consistency of LLL has deteriorated. I have also heard a number of complaints about the construction quality. LLL has been very popular among skaters and dancers for quite awhile but I think that popularity is definitely on a downturn. Most of my clients don't mind paying a little more but they definitely want quality for what they are paying and they no longer feel they are getting that from LLL.

I don't quite understand this. If they had marketed them as sheers, people (especially the Hollywood types) would have been lined up around the block to get the latest thing. How cynical am I?
