I have way too many yards to count, and I will never use them up, but I will die trying!

Good to see another Louisiana person on here, especially not far from me. I know this is off topic for a Texas post. Cankton, La here.

Good to hear that there is someone near or around Houston, TX. I'm Neighborhood Group Coordinator for ASG Houston, and I want to talk to someone about getting a group thing started here as part of PatternReview with an ASG presence.

I'd like to hear about anything going on in/near Houston, but I'm south (Missouri City/sienna Planation).

Actually I'd like to hear where anyone goes for fabric/notions in my neck of the woods! I'm pretty much stuck w/ Walmart, with an occasional 20-30 minute trip to JoAnn's in Sugarland. There's a Quilt shop in Mo Cty, but I don't even know if they carry much fabric (I think they are mostly a machine place). They have wonky hours, so I've never been near them when they are open.

Hi Donna, I'm about three miles from JoAnn's. If I had a garment fabric emergency I'd likely go to Fabrics, Etc in Webster and see if their compact collection could yield a solution. Once I was that far afield I'd probably have to drop in to Sew Contempo. I would call it a quilt shop but one with a lot of somethin' specials. I am not a quilter but am always fascinated by their inventory. Sew Contempo has some great annual sales that include machine accessories.

I'm a bit swamped right now but would enjoy meeting you and any of the PR ladies.

Since I lost my favorite little shop in Beaumont a few years back I have been shopping from my stash and online.

Liesbet, The Woodlands is practically in another state! Honestly, too far for regular meetups. Perhaps there is a more central location for quarterly meetups? Or, even once or twice a year. I'm trying to think of the center that is close to 10 and Beltway 8. It's undergone recent renovations and looks to provide some attractive opportunities for meeting and mingling.
