Hello all,

I just got a Bernina Activa 130 second hand and started stitching. I'm thinking about a rolled hemmer and like #64 (straight stitch) but are considering #69 because I think I can do straight and zig-zag. What is the advantage of having #64? They are both 4mm wide.

Thanks,

David

I got the zig zag hemmer because I though it would be more versatile.
It took some practice, but I'm really glad I have it. So far I've only ever done straight stitch with it though.

I think the 64 might work a little better on super thin fabrics, as the needle hole is smaller so the foot covers for of the fabric. I could be wrong.

It's probably easier to explain if you have one of the straight stitch feet like 13 or 37 and use them with the straight stitch needle plate.

The straight stich Hemmer is intended to be used on the same delicate fabrics.

But if you don'nt use straight stitch feet, there's no real point.
