Loved the great british bake off so will be interested how they translate it to sewing.

This could be an interesting program. I'll have to check and see when it is on locally.

I really enjoy quilting. I love to play with fabrics, colors and pictures. I recently discovered how much fun applique can be. As I love making pictures, landscape quilting can be challenging, but seeing the picture come to life is so rewarding.

I saw the first episode on Tuesday (repeat on Saturday I think). It is nice with a focus on the tailoring vs design.
Nice jury, with Patrick Grant (of Saville Row) and May Martin. The really focus on the sewing details and also explain about patterns and why things need to be done a certain way.

It does not have the GBBO magic yet, but that may follow

I watched the first episode today on YouTube and thoroughly enjoyed it! Ann Rowley is a PR member and an excellent seamstress, knitter and crochets.

I watched this show on Youtube. I love it! I hope that they continue with the show. And since, I'm from the US, that it keeps getting posted on Youtube. Fun show!

Thanks for the heads up. I watched the show on YouTube. Loved it! Some of the instructional bits sound like they are for nonsewers or real beginners, but I didn't mind. I liked the historical information.

Definitely rooting for Ann, great sewing and she's so cool and collected. Coming here and finding out she's a member is even better!

The show was a breath of fresh air after having sat through Project Runway this evening.

Thanks for the youtube link! I have only watched a few minutes so far, but fun to see things like someone sewing in bare feet, the tomato pin cushion marked with sections for different machine needles etc. Surprised to see everyone pinning the pattern and not using weights, which are so much quicker, at least so far. I am excited to watch the rest.

Pattern weights haven't caught on here, at all. I, personally find pins much more accurate and, as I always use tailor tacks for marking, pins are vital to hold the pattern in place while I do this.
I hope you continue to enjoy the programme.

Just completed the you tube video. I'm an adv. beginner/inter. garment sewist, so the instructional bits were nice.

I love watching all the different approaches to similar tasks! The focus on fit and real world sewing is fabulous!
