What's the easiest way to make flying geese? I love these, but don't like making them. Maybe someone knows an easy way? Thanks.

Here are four
Flying Geese techniques.

Personally, I try to avoid specialty gadgets. It can lead to a collection of once (and sometimes, never) used items.

No, I googled Flying Geese when I was doing the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt. She gave instructions for special types of rulers that I was unwilling to invest in, so I ended up finding my own instructions...

I loved those instructions because they give two at a time...Nice when you are trying to do 120 or lots at a time!

I use this method with the Lazy Girls Flying Geese Ruler..

I use the ruler to double check my cuts.

I use Ricky Tim's one seam goose method. However It gives you three dimensional, and therefore thicker, geese. I used them on Bonnie Hunter's Easy St.

I've used the Quilt in a Day flying geese ruler. I like this method; you make 4 at a time.

Watch a video of Eleanor Burns demonstrating how to use this ruler. In this demo she also shows how to trim up the units using a "regular" quilting ruler. You don't absolutely NEED the special ruler, but it's convenient.

Deonn Stott has a great tutorial for Flying Geese (among others) on her website that was filmed for Riley Blake's Cutting Corners College.
